A general-knowledge and current-affairs quiz platform with an Android app and a website. I built the Laravel API and web platform behind it, including open competitions that any signed-in user can organise.

I built the backend and website. The Android app is the client that uses it.

Key features

Quiz practice

Random question sets by topic tag, with explanations and images, served in batches so the app can work offline.

Sign-in & accounts

Email sign-up with verification, Google sign-in, password reset and secure token access for the app.

Open competitions

Any signed-in user can create a competition with levels, questions, rules, prizes and FAQs, then publish it.

Timed play & leaderboards

Participants play timed levels, answers are graded on the server and rankings update live.

Same rules on web and app

One shared service grades attempts, so the website and Android app always agree.

Progress & stats

Per-user history, score stats and no repeated questions across sessions.

Admin panel (my backend)

Dashboard with users, questions and competitions, plus suspend and restore controls.

Legacy data migration

Rebuilt on top of an older site's large database, keeping years of quiz content live.
